1972 Porsche 911 2.4 T bodyshell restoration

A pin-sharp 1972 Porsche 911 2.4T shell in restoration

This really lovely left-hand-drive 1972 Porsche 911 2.4 T has just finished a full bodyshell restoration and repaint at the Tuthill Porsche workshops.

Restored on one of our Celette chassis jigs before being transferred into the paint shop on one of our rolling body frames, we have now refitted the suspension after a full refurb of the various components. With a brand new windscreen and screen rubbers also fitted, it is now going back to its owner to be reassembled at home.

Porsche restoration can be a long and complicated process, costing significant sums of money and requiring considerable attention to detail. Some owners like to split the stages into parts they can do in person, and sections that need specialist help. This may be connected to keeping the budget at a manageable level, or it may also be a personal choice by the owners to be as involved as possible throughout the restoration.

Bringing a much loved classic Porsche back to life after many years of neglect or decay can be quite a personal journey if the car has been with its owner for some time. Owners may also enjoy the therapeutic value of the restoration process. We always work with our customers to get the most satisfying results, so if that involves overseeing only certain specific parts of a classic Porsche restoration, then we are always willing to discuss such arrangements.

We’re delighted to see this handsome 1972 Porsche 911 2.4 T coming back to life in such a rare shade. Simple, elegant and timeless: it is very excited to save so many of these beautiful classic Porsche 911s. Contact us to discuss your classic Porsche projects.
