70 Years of Porsche celebrated at Le Mans Classic with 2L Cup

Peter Auto announces a 70-strong Porsche celebration race at Le Mans Classic, including the 2L Cup

Our friends at Peter Auto have announced that the 9th edition Le Mans Classic from July 6-8, 2018, will celebrate seventy years of Porsche sports cars, in a race called the Porsche Classic Race Le Mans.

An exceptional array of seventy historic Porsche racing cars, including participants from Peter Auto’s newly-announced 2.0L Cup, will take part in the 55-minute race on Saturday, July 7, before the start of the 2018 Le Mans Classic. Two qualifying sessions will be run on Friday to establish the performance index ranking and classification.

This unique event will feature models ranging from the first Porsche 356 of 1952 to the 1973 Porsche 911 2.8 RSR. From serial production versions of the 356 and 911, racing 911 S/Ts and RSRs and invited prototypes from the 1950s and 1960s, the grid presents a mouth-watering prospect for Porsche fans of all ages.

To participate, vehicles must be equipped with a technical passport in good standing and registrations will be on file with validation by Peter Auto. Tuthill Porsche will support several cars at the event as part of our efforts on the 2.0L Cup, which also includes the Spa Classic, Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or and Dix Mille Tours at Le Castellet.
