Strong Tuthill Porsche 911 SC RS race at Nürburgring Classic

Tuthill Porsche 911 SC RS takes P2 finish at Nurburgring

Tuthill Porsche continued its successful 2015 historic circuit racing season last weekend, when a Tuthill-prepared Porsche 911 SC RS finished second in class and eleventh overall at the Nürburgring 24-Hour Classic support race: the ADAC Youngtimer Trophy.

Driven by owner, Johan Bonnier, alongside Nürburgring legend, Wolfgang Kaufmann, the Tuthill Porsche claimed pole position in class with an average speed of 150 km/h around the 25-kilometre Nürburgring GP and Nordschleife circuit.

The car’s fastest race lap of 10:04.738 was the quickest time in the class for cars homologated from 1982-1988. This was more than 7 seconds up on the eventual class winner: an ex-DTM Hartge BMW 635 from 1987, driven by former Youngtimer series champions, the Schumann brothers.

“Another great result for a Tuthill Porsche on track: well done to Johan and Wolfgang,” said Richard Tuthill. “The Nurburging Youngtimer series includes cars like the Kremer Porsche 935 K1 and BMW M1. To finish second in class and just outside the top ten in such company on the world’s most challenging race circuit is an excellent achievement.

“Wherever the competition takes place, Tuthill Porsche and historic motorsport go hand-in-hand. We look forward to seeing more Tuthill Porsche-prepared classic 911s on track this year, at events including the Silverstone Classic and Spa 6-hours.”
