Tuthill Porsche wins Rally of the Incas

A Tuthill Porsche 911 wins the Rally of the Incas

Congratulations to our great friend Joost van Cauwenberge, who has claimed a memorable victory in his Tuthill Porsche 911 on the Rally of the Incas: a 27-day race through Peru, Chile and Argentina, organised by the Endurance Rally Organisation.

Forty-five crews took part in the rally, which included sections through previously unrallied parts of eastern South America, including the Valdez Peninsula and the High Andes. When the chequered flag was waved, Joost and co-driver (and wife) Christine de Landtsheer were three minutes ahead of their closest competitor: a very tight finish!

Also running in South America were the Tuthill-built Porsches of Mark Winkelman and also Gavin Henderson, who has clocked up many thousands of endurance rally miles in his Tuthill-built 911 since it was completed. All three enjoyed a terrific event, with Mark’s 912 taking a top five finish. We look forward to more endurance rallying successes in 2017.

Many thanks as always to Gerard Brown for the great photos of Joost in action!
