There’s a lot of excitement surrounding plans for the 2015 WRC R-GT Cup. Tuthill Porsche has an entry for the championship, which starts on Rallye Monte-Carlo (Jan 22-25), the driver is lined up and sponsors are on board, but we will hold off sharing full the details until everything is officially confirmed.
Porsche 997 R-GT in EVO Magazine
Our R-GT programme has not been static since the last WRC outing in France with Francois Delecour driving. The Tuthill Porsche 997 R-GT has successfully tested on gravel, and was also run at customer tests close to home. It was also tested for a number of magazine features, one of which has just come out in the latest edition of EVO magazine: many thanks to Evo’s Henry Catchpole and photographer Dean Smith for an excellent piece.
Tuthill Porsche R-GT at Autosport International Show
The next outing for R-GT will be the 2015 Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham from January 8-11. Richard Tuthill will drive the R-GT in the Autosport Live Arena on Thursday and Friday and we may have some special guests with us also! More news as the show approaches.
Right now in Wardington, it’s Christmas Eve, the boys have a few hours left before calling it a day and we are still working on R-GT for next year. Regulations for 2015 state we cannot run composite doors on the car, so steel panels are being prepared. We’ve also now got to carry two spare wheels: no idea where another huge GT wheel and tyre is supposed to fit in the car but we will find a way. Defeat is not in our vocabulary!
