Tuthill Porsche at RallyDay 2014: Richard Burns Foundation

Tuthill Porsche at Rallyday 2014: Markko Martin drives our 997 RGT for The Richard Burns Foundation. With memories of Björn Waldegård!

We’ve just confirmed our attendance at Rallyday 2014. Held at Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire, Rallyday is the UK’s largest rally-specific event.

The aim of the Rallyday show is to allow enthusiasts to enjoy a wide range of rally cars, and rally stars, in an open and spectator friendly environment. Rallyday’s programme includes live action on the track and static displays and star guests in the paddock. It really does have something for everyone.

We’re attending with The Richard Burns Foundation. Our Tuthill Porsche 911 RGT car carries RBF logos and we’re delighted to support the Foundation’s work in memory of Richard. The RGT car will form part of the static car display, but will also take to the track driven by the great Markko Märtin: patron of the Richard Burns Foundation. Markko will also be driving some of Colin McRae’s old cars.

“Seeing lots of old historic cars you don’t see every day is always nice: just to hear them is special,” said Markko. “In some ways for me it is more interesting than seeing the current cars. I have never been to the event, but I have read a lot about it. It will be nice to come and experience it myself. I still miss some of the crowd and the atmosphere from all those years ago.”

The Rallyday organisers also plan to remember Björn Waldegård and celebrate Björn’s life with some of his machinery. All of this is sure to be unmissable. Here’s a video remembering Richard: get yourself to Combe and let’s make it an unforgettable day.
