This Porsche 911 was built for one of our Swiss-based clients. It was a complete ground-up rebuild, with the bodyshell stripped and media blasted for restoration while all the mechanical components were restored, rebuilt or upgraded for new items.
The bare-metal shell was fully restored in our fabrication workshop, with additional steel RSR-style arch extensions and some chassis strengthening. The body panels including new lightweight bumpers were fitted and aligned in the fab shop, before the project moved on to our bodyshop.
Our in-house bodyshop’s role in all custom Porsche builds involves more than just paint. The complete shell is seam sealed and primed before the underside is protected against stone chips. The cabin is painted in body colour, with some sections then painted in black as per the original cars. We then mask the interior and paint the exterior. The panels and doors are painted off the car.
With the body finished, the car moved into trim and assembly. A full custom wiring loom was fitted before soundproofing material was added to the cabin, with new carpets and headlining also installed. As with most of our cars, the entire build centred on simplicity: keeping the interior aesthetic to a functional minimum, while taking performance and driving excitement to another level.
The drivetrain of this exceptional car has too many custom details to list every single item, but the parts include full EXE-TC suspension to our specification, an increased-capacity Tuthill-built engine with electronic fuel injection, custom exhaust manifolds, intake and silencer system, bespoke transmission with custom gear set and limited slip differential, Tuthill aluminium brake calipers and beautifully refinished Fuchs forged alloy wheels with modern tyres.
After completion, the car was bedded in here in the UK before being delivered to Switzerland. It has since passed the rigorous Swiss homologation and is being used as the makers intended!
