1965 Porsche 911 Restoration at Tuthills

Another 1965 Porsche 911 restoration begins at Tuthill Porsche

We’ve just started another fine 1965 Porsche 911 restoration here at Tuthill Porsche. The build is our sixth 2-litre 1965 911 restoration so far in 2015, which shows the current popularity of these great classic Porsches.

Through the 1980s, ’90s and early part of this century, Tuthill Porsche was one of the very few Porsche specialists handling the largely forgotten 2-litre SWB (short wheelbase) early Porsche 911s. our workshops catered for competition preparation and more straightforward servicing for road car customers, who could find very few specialists with the experience to repair the earliest Porsche models.

Nowadays, values for classic Porsche 911s are much higher, so there are fewer competition cars in use. However, we still maintain the fastest FIA 2-litre cars, including the 1965 Porsche 911 of EB Motorsport which did so well at Goodwood last month, and a number of SWB Porsche rally cars, but we do far more restoration, repair, and engine and transmission rebuilding on the classic Porsche models.

Tuthill’s experience and enthusiasm for the SWB cars stretches back to our earliest days, so we have an unrivalled expertise and understanding of these short wheelbase cars. Restoration of classic Porsche 911s like this 1965 example is all carried out in-house, and we have a number of project cars available for purchase.
