Dessie Nutt 911: Tuthill Severn Valley

This weekend is the Severn Valley rally down in sunny Wales. Shining like the sun is Dessie Nutt’s Light Yellow Tuthill 911, fresh from its recent win in the Jim Clark Classic and ready to claim some more top step action.

Severn Valley might be a one-day rally, but it’s certainly a tough old day. Tuthill Porsche was hunting down a Severn Valley win a few years back until shredded tyres took them out of the running: this is not an event you can cruise through.

This year’s Severn Valley – round four of the British Historic Rally Championship – is the 40th anniversary of a classic stage competition. Running this Saturday, June 15th, thirty-nine entrants will thrash through the forests surrounding the Welsh market town of Builth Wells.

Edmund Peel joins Dessie this weekend in another Tuthill-prepped Porsche. Edmund had a great outing on the recent Pirelli Rally and the car has already driven all of South America this year! Severn Valley will be more like driving to Sainsbury’s for our intrepid globetrotting Porscher.

“Severn Valley is one of Britain’s best gravel rallies and includes the classic Radnor, Crychan and Halfway stages, legendary amongst WRC drivers,” said Richard. “Dessie is just one point away from third in the standings, and a handful of points behind his Porsche rival, so another class win this weekend would be a great boost.

“Edmund did an excellent job on the Pirelli, so another top flight performance would be mega. We wish both drivers the best of luck at the weekend: they’ve just got to concentrate and keep on the gas. Stay focused and push!”
