Aslam Khan Kenya Porsche Rally Car testing

New build Tuthill Porsche 911 rally car enters modern rally for testing in Kenya

What better way to test your new rally car than to enter a rally? So thought experienced Kenyan rally driver Aslam Khan when his new Porsche 911 arrived from Francis Tuthill’s.

The car is entered in the Kenya Airways East African Safari Classic Rally in November, but the chance to try it out on the modern Safari Rally Kenya held in Kajiado was not to be missed.

“The car is amazing: so much more power and handling than the Ford Escort I drove on the Safari Classic in 2009,” said Aslam. His Porsche incorporates all of our latest components, as do all the Tuthill Porsches to be used on Safari later this year.

On the modern Safari Rally entered as a test, Aslam was leading the Supplementary class when the car lightly rolled. The slight damage is easily repairable and the car will be on the Safari Classic for sure.

Our team for Safari is perhaps the biggest ever. Race4Change.org and Tuthill have entered three cars, with Bjorn Waldegard in one, and many of our regular drivers are returning. We also expect to announce some very high profile drivers in the coming weeks. More news as we get it.
