Tuthill at Barbados Historic Rally Carnival

Tuthill Porsche run McRae in the Caribbean

Two rally 911s have just left Tuthill Porsche at Wardington, bound for the Caribbean.

The cars are taking part in the Barbados Historic Rally Carnival, which runs from the 14th to the 28th of July. Francis himself has flown out to drive his London-Sydney winning car (shown receiving a final clean), and help run both his car and the other 911, driven by our old friend Jimmy McRae.

Obviously we wish Francis and Jimmy well over the two-week festival, which celebrates the rally’s tenth anniversary. It would be nice to think there was going to be some work involved, and not just driving rally cars between sun-soaked pool bars.

Youtube throws up interesting video results for the Barbados Rally Carnival. Here’s one that’s Porsche-free but have a look anyway. Part drifting competition, part off-road excursion and part “where not to park your car when a rally is passing your house”, it’s well worth watching to the end.

Stay tuned for news of Francis and Jimmy’s exploits. Should be fun!
