Delecour is Fastest Porsche on WRC Rally France Day 3

François Delecour treated his Tuthill Porsche and many thousands of fans to a driving masterclass on the final day of WRC Rallye De France-Alsace.

François Delecour treated his Tuthill Porsche and the thousands of fans who turned out in support to a driving masterclass on the final day of WRC Rallye De France-Alsace.

Following an off yesterday afternoon, which wiped out a radiator and any chance of overhauling our worthy adversary, Romain Dumas in the 4-litre GT3 RS, the team worked into the night to repair the car and get it back out this morning. With the pressure off, François could enjoy himself, setting fastest R-GT times on all of today’s stages, and ending the rally on a high note.

“Any time driving this car is a good time,” said François. “I have enjoyed so much driving the Porsche and to win every stage today is a nice way to end. My dream has long been to return the Porsche 911 to the World Rally Championship and I thank the Tuthill Porsche team for making this dream come true.

“Now, I am going to work for R-GT Cup next year. I want to compete in this championship. It will be so, so incredible to be on the start line in Monte Carlo in one of these cars!”

Richard is delighted that we could finish the rally. “It was really important for us to get back out in the car today, to finish Rallye de France-Alsace and honour the many fans who made such huge efforts to see the 911s. While we expected some rain and would have welcomed the experience, the rain never came, but we have learned a great deal.

“François has been fantastic as ever to work with, and he and Dominique have an excellent partnership. Hopefully, we will see both of them back in a Tuthill Porsche soon.”
