Porsche 904 Replica Recreation Build

Porsche 904 classic race car replica recreation makes our workshop look great! We work on many genuine Porsche 904s but always nice to have a good replica in.

The classic 904 replica featured in one of last week’s updates is still with us, and we are delighted to have it. This is such a beautiful thing to behold; it makes a lovely change from the (also very handsome) 911s we get so used to seeing.

As luck would have it, I actually dropped in to meet the builder this week on a long-overdue parts pick up mission, and learned a bit more about the car.

This 904 was put together by Martin and Walker, based at Thruxton Circuit. The engine is a 3-litre SC that had a set of carbs fitted quickly at the end of the build. It is in with us to have the carburettors inspected and set up.

The green stripe is actually an Aston Martin colour, added to emulate one of the owner’s other cars. The family have an interesting motor industry lineage, so it is a real piece of the UK Porsche scene.

I don’t think I would ever get tired of looking at this 904. The only downside is, when you’re driving it, you can’t see the outside. Bigger mirrors are the answer!
