The Tuthill Porsche engine and gearbox shop is just completing its first 997 GT3 Cup ‘dog box’ transmission rebuild. To compliment our Porsche 911 FIA WRC RGT build programme, we invested in the official Porsche tool set for these transmissions, so it’s great to start seeing the gearboxes coming through.
This Cup Car transmission is destined for a Porsche 997 GT3 track day fun car and sometime racer. Everything is new, and looks terrific. The boxes share some configuration with earlier air-cooled transmissions: they even fit on standard Porsche G50 engine stand mounts. We’re looking forward to seeing a few more transmission builds come through the workshop this year.
