Björn leads by almost two minutes from a charging de Mevius. Ian Duncan takes fastest times on Stage 3 and pulls himself up to third, with Gérard Marcy fourth.

Thomas Flohr is again working his magic with a sixth place after three tough stages – well done Thomas. Then Pastrana and Funk in Tuthill cars roud out the top eight.

We’ll take that for a finish on a first day. Steve Troman is now past the worst of this thick black mud and is just about to come out of the stage. A well-earned beer awaits!
