Tuthill Porsche on the 2017 TAC Rally

Tuthill Porsche heads for Belgium’s TAC Rally with a special Group 4 911

Tuthill Porsche has plenty of rallying lined up as part of this year’s historic motorsport programme. Next weekend sees the first outing for a Tuthill Porsche in the 2017 Belgian Historic Rally Championship, when Glenn Janssens takes on the 44th TAC Rally in his superb Group 4 911 rally car, built here at Wardington and running a brand new livery for 2017.

Organised by the Tieltse Automobiel Club (TAC), the TAC Rally is the third round of the Belgian historic championship. The rally officially starts with a shakedown on Wednesday evening, with scrutineering taking place post-shakedown at rally HQ. The rally stages are then run on April 7th and 8th around the municipality of Tielt, in West Flanders.

Born in the neighbouring province of East Flanders, Janssens would love to take a win in the west, but he is up against strong competition. Current historic championship leaders, Stefaan Prinzie and Sharon Vermuelen in their Opel Ascona 400, will be out to retain their winning momentum from the first two rounds, while the M3s of Robin Maes and Didier Vanwijnsberghe and the Impreza of Paul Lietaer will also be pushing hard and giving Glenn a good run for his money. It should be a very exciting weekend!

Elsewhere in the TAC entry list, several Porsche 911 R-GT rally cars have also been entered by Belgian competitors. It will be good to see R-GTs in action again: we are still great fans of the R-GT regulations.
