Tuthill Porsche at CarFest for BBC Children in Need

Tuthill Porsche supports BBC Children in Need, with three Below Zero Ice Driving Porsche 911 rally cars at CarFest

Tuthill Porsche is supporting the BBC Children in Need charity this weekend, as three of its Below Zero Ice Driving Porsche 911 rally cars take part in CarFest South. We’re also giving away a £4,000 ice driving experience with Below Zero for two people, including transfers from the airport and two nights half-board accommodation: it is one of the raffle prizes on offer at CarFest.

Held at Laverstoke Park Farm, near Overton in Hampshire, CarFest is the brainchild of Chris Evans: petrolhead host of BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show. At least 25% of the price of each CarFest ticket goes to Children in Need. The 2013 CarFest events raised over £1.1 million for charity, through ticket sales, car auctions and merchandise sales.

“My parents exposed us to the thrill of race and rally cars from a very young age, so Tuthill Porsche is delighted to share in the excitement of this family event,” says Richard Tuthill, MD of the Oxfordshire Porsche rally team, which debuts its all-new FIA WRC rally Porsche 911 RGT on this weekend’s Rally Germany. “Knowing first-hand how sharing the fast car ‘wow factor’ brings families together, having Tuthill Porsche support that tradition while raising money for BBC Children in Need is an opportunity not to be missed.”

Three Tuthill Porsche-prepared 3-litre Porsche 911 rally cars from the Below Zero Ice Driving stable will participate in the 2014 CarFest South. Two classic Porsche 911s will give passenger rides to raise money for charity, while the winning Tuthill 911 from this year’s Mini Britannia and Swedish Midnight Sun rallies will tackle the hillclimb, in the hands of leading British rally driver, Ryan Champion.

The 2014 CarFest South runs from August 22-24. Gates open on Friday at 7am, when weekend campers will begin arriving: many staying right through to Monday morning. Some Tuthill staff will be camping all weekend, to support the team and encourage more passenger rides!

CarFest is advising people to ignore their sat navs and follow the one-way system into the event. Download a PDF map of directions here, including details of the CarFest carshare scheme.
