Tuthill Porsche’s Dessie Nutt wins in Epynt

Great result for Tuthill Porsche on Harry Flatters Historic Rally, when Dessie Nutt and Geraldine McBride took a Category 1 BHRC win in their SWB Porsche 911

Great result for Team Tuthill on the recent Harry Flatters Historic Rally, when Dessie Nutt and Geraldine McBride scored a solid Cat 1 win in their SWB Porsche 911.

Hopes of an all-day Porsche battle in Category One were ruled out by lunchtime, as local expert Terry Brown parked his 911 with a broken gearbox, and Rikki Proffitt went off-road and out of the event, due to damaged suspension.

On the stages both had managed to complete, Brown and Proffitt traded times with Nutt/McBride, with Brown fastest on the first long stage by just eight-tenths of a second over Nutt.

Once his rivals removed themselves from contention, Dessie ran a measured pace for the three lengthy afternoon stages, ending up 2m20s clear as the survivors arrived back in Brecon. Second was the Ford Anglia of Peter Stimpson and Mark Butler, and third went to Derek Boyd and Simon Hunter in another 911.

The next event is Todd’s Leap Ulster Rally in two weekends’ time: August 17th and 18th. We’ll be there!

BHRC Category One Results:

1 Dessie Nutt/Geraldine McBride (Porsche 911) 1h22m06.1s

2 Peter Stimpson/Mark Butler (Ford Anglia) 1h24m25.6s

3 Derek Boyd/Simon Hunter (Porsche 911) 1h26m38.5s
