Tuthill Porsche at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Tuthill Porsche rally exhibition drives at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Tuthill Porsche’s most famous 911 is getting the finishing touches before wowing the crowds at Goodwood this weekend, joining a pair of former World Rally champions on the Forest Stage at the 2014 Festival of Speed.

Björn Wåldegard and Didier Auriol will attend this year’s Festival with the Toyota Rally Team. Auriol will pilot a tarmac-spec Toyota Corolla WRC car up the hillclimb course, while Wåldegard drives his Group B Twin Cam Celica through the woods, to celebrate Toyota’s years of WRC dominance.

Wåldegard twice won the Cote d’Ivoire and Safari Rallies in two wheel-drive Celicas and went on to claim another Safari win in the Celica GT Four. His most recent Safari victory came with Tuthill Porsche in 2011 in this car: the first-ever Porsche 911 to win the East African Safari Rally.

Our Safari-winning 911 took part in last year’s Festival of Speed, and proved well-suited to the Forest Stage. Designed by Hannu Mikkola, the stage was altered last year with modified start and finish sections, which allowed the cars to run at higher speed for a better spectator experience.

Are you coming to Goodwood? Watch out for our car and share any pictures you manage to capture via the Tuthill Porsche Facebook page, or send them to Tuthill Porsche on Twitter. Goodwood is the heart of social motorsport, so here’s a great 2014 Festival of Speed weekend.
