Tuthill Porsche prepares for Morocco Historic

We’re currently preparing the 1972 Porsche 911 of Joost von Cauwenberge for this year’s Morocco Historic Rally.

We’re currently preparing the 1972 Porsche 911 of Joost von Cauwenberge for this year’s Morocco Historic Rally. This great 911 has enjoyed a detailed check over since finishing on the podium in its most recent rally – Australia’s Classic Outback Trial – and will soon be ready to ship to North Africa.

Running from April 29th to May 4th, 2019 will be the 10th edition of the Maroc Historique. 911s have been the most successful cars in the nine previous editions of this excellent rally, with five of the nine won by 911s, compared to two wins for the Talbot Lotus Sunbeam and one each for the Escort Mk 2 and the Peugeot 504 V6 coupe. The entry list for this year’s event has not yet been released, but Porsche should again be well represented. 911s made up 25% of last year’s competitors, with a Porsche 924 Turbo also taking part.

The Morocco Historic is a true revival of the famous Rally of Morocco, which was a round of the World Rally Championship in period. North Africa is a perfect place to go rallying: the people, culture and colour complement the unique landscape to deliver a truly unforgettable experience. The organisers will no doubt put on a great event to celebrate their tenth anniversary and our clients should have a wonderful time. Entries are limited and close on March 15th.

The Porsche 911 rally car currently for sale with Tuthill Porsche is perfectly placed to enjoy rallies such as Morocco Historique and would make a great platform for future development. Get in touch if you would like to discuss historic rallying options: our driver development programme has helped many people to build their skills from novice to accomplished amateur and beyond. A lack of experience is no barrier to enjoying these exceptional events.
