Tuthill Porsche is based in Oxfordshire and completes restoration projects and builds bespoke road cars. All aspects of Porsche rebuilds are carried out in-house, including engine and transmission builds, rust repair, metal fabrication, roll cage installation and full body paint. We are synonymous with the world’s most successful historic Porsche rally and race cars and have worked with some of rallying’s greatest names.

We are looking for a Machinist to join the team. The role will report to the Operations Director, and will be responsible for repairing or producing parts, using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements. 

The working hours in this position are Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 with a 45 minute lunch break, a total of 41.25 hours per week and the role offers a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the appropriate machines are chosen for each job
  • Ensuring the machines are monitored at all times
  • Responsible for identifying any issues with the machines
  • Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job 
  • Taking measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines
  • Using the correct material for each job
  • Keeping a record of jobs completed
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Repair minor damages as and when required
  • Comply with health and safety at all times

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Minimum of one year of manual machining experience
  • Previous Automotive / Motorsport experience would be desirable
  • Able to read and manufacture parts from drawings.
  • Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines
  • Experience in using semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload and manage conflicting priorities
  • Positive and proactive approach
  • Self-motivated and uses own initiative
