Porsche 356 Restoration Tuthill

An impeccable 356 Carrera arrives at Wardington for a full check-up

Recently arrived at Francis Tuthill’s Porsche workshops at Wardington is this superb 1958 Porsche 356 Carrera, sent in by its new owner for a thorough going over. The 356 Carrera is a very rare car, and genuinely good examples can be worth well into six figure-territory.

This car was fully restored in the early 1980s at huge cost, and has driven less than 1500 kilometres since. Though it was recently recommissioned for road use, the owner, also a big 911 fan, is keen for 356 enthusiast and expert, Francis Tuthill, to give this one a detailed once-over, and put right anything that is not quite so.

A cursory initial inspection has revealed nothing amiss, but we’ll have a good look at it later this week and report back to the owner before spending their money, as we do with all of our customers. Regulars tell us that this is one of the things they really appreciate about the way we work.

One of the things everyone working here at Wardington enjoys is the wide range of cars we maintain: everything from the earliest 911s sold in the UK, up to the latest examples, and all models in between. Most will be familiar with our previously-featured pair of 959s, as well as the range of classic RS and RSR models that are in and out of the workshop on a regular basis.

But as has been said here before, we’re not badge snobs. We are just as happy to work on your Skoda as we are a priceless Porsche racing car or a high tech road car. At the end of the day, all customers are treated equally: the labour rate is the same, no matter what we are working on. The real reward in our affordable labour rate is our unrivaled experience being put to work on your pride and joy, and the value of our stamp in your service book.

Call us today on 01295 750 514 to book your Porsche, Audi, VW or Skoda car in for a winter checkover before the cold weather really sets in. Be safe, not sorry this winter!
