Here at Francis Tuthill’s Porsche Workshops in Wardington, we’re well known for our love of 911s. But that is not all we do. We also service and maintain many 944, 928 and Boxster models.
Our body shop recently took delivery of this 968 Club Sport, to carry out some renovation to the paintwork. The 968 Club Sport is a full-blooded, front-engined Porsche, beloved of spirited drivers everywhere.
These days, nice clean 968s are rare enough, but to find a Club Sport model is very difficult. With so many CS models having been used on track, it is essential when looking at cars for sale that you get your would-be purchases inspected, to check for crash damage or worse.
The car seen here is an original example in honest condition throughout, but we’ve seen Club Sports with bent and twisted bodywork, cracked shells, welded engine cases: all sorts of dubious repairs aimed at making a quick buck.
If you’re in the market for a Porsche, spend a few pounds on getting any potential purchases to an independent specialist workshop, to check for inconsistencies in condition before you part with any cash. Better to lose an hour’s workshop time than a lifetime’s expectation of the pleasure of Porsche ownership.
