Tuthill Porsche clients rally the globe

Tuthill Porsche clients are rallying all over the world in Q1 2020

Our Wardington workshop continues to produce great rally cars that allow clients to explore the world. Several Tuthill Porsche 911s will be competing on three significant rallies all over the world during the first three months of 2020.

Rallye Monte Carlo Historique

This year is the 23rd edition of the famous Monte Carlo historic rally, which runs from January 29th to February 5th. A brand new 2-litre 911 rally car built here in Wardington will be taking part in the event.

Much of the unique appeal of the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique comes from its variety of start points. Competitors may begin the rally at one of several cities across Europe including Athens, Glasgow, Milan and Barcelona. The rally covers several days, with the final stages taking place in the mountains around Monaco at night. This is a thrilling event with a thrilling history – we are excited to see our new car on the Monte.

Southern Cross Safari

Southern Cross Safari 2020 is the latest rally from our friends at Rally the Globe. Starting in Watamu, Kenya on February 15th, the rally covers 3,600 kms of driving over 22 days, through some of East Africa’s most beautiful scenery. Using many of the local roads seen on Safari will not be easy on the cars: the organisers have advised for full gravel preparation.

Four Tuthill 911s are competing on this event, including the two-litre cars of Gavin and Diana Henderson and Steve and Jenny Verall, and the 2.7-litre cars of David and Susan Danglard with Edmund Peel and Sara MacDonald.

New Zealand Classic Rally

Endurorally’s first event of 2020 is the New Zealand Classic Rally, which starts on the same day as the Southern Cross Rally, albeit on a different continent. The route is expected to cover a little over 7,000 kms across twenty-three days. Fifty regularity sections on graded gravel roads will be a bit easier on the cars, though there are also eight tests around permanent race tracks which should provide some good fun.

Bertrand and Charlotte Van Houtte will tackle this event in 1 1965 911 prepared here in Wardington, while Sherif Hwaidak and Yevhen Harashchenko will be back in action in the 3-litre rally car as seen in our 2019 Twelve Builds of Christmas.

We look forward to sharing news from all three events once they begin. Best of luck to all of our clients and their competitors: here’s to fast, safe rallying.
